Therapy

Therapy helps unpack and better understand yourself, your story, deeply set perceptions, and old wounds that cause more disruption than you'd like. This deep psychological work can be difficult to go through, but the benefits will impact your life forever.

While there are benefits to having a long-term relationship with a therapist, most people come to therapy to heal an issue that is impacting their lives in a significant way and are looking to move forward. Most of my clients don't have time for endless weekly sessions and are looking to heal the issues that are keeping them stuck and move forward with their busy lives.

I believe in creating transformational results for people. This requires intense dedication from both the client and the therapist. I think of therapy as similar to surgical work. First we apply a bandage to get you stabilized and then we do surgery to get to the source of the pain. While this can be an intense process, it is worth it to put these old wounds behind you for good, instead of continuing to try and avoid aggravating them.

I take a holistic approach to therapy, believing that your brain and body want to heal, and when given the right tools and when blocks are removed, it allows your body to return to it's natural state. I use a combination of CBT, Mindfulness, poly vagal theory for nervous system regulation and EMDR to get to the source of what is causing the disruption in your life. We may also look at nutrition, supplementation, and referring you for labs as many root causes of symptoms occur when a system in the body isn't functioning optimally.

For phone appointments, please schedule in the "Video Office" and email me that you would like to meet by phone. New Clients: You are welcome to schedule below. Please fill out your paperwork as soon as possible so I can review it before your appointment and make any referrals as necessary. If you would like to schedule a 15 minute phone consultation, you can do that through the scheduling link.

Insurance Currently I am in-network with many Blue Cross plans. I do not accept EAP benefits. Your insurance carrier can verify if I am in-network with your plan and what your portion of payment will be. Insurance does require a medical diagnosis and medical necessity in order for them to cover services. They do reserve the right to access your notes and treatment plan and can dictate the course of treatment. Certain medical diagnoses will prohibit your ability to access certain services like life or disability insurance. Please discuss this with your provider if you have any questions.

Health Update: Masks are optional for all in personal appointments. If you are feeling ill or have likely been exposed to illness, please choose an online appointment. If you have an in person appointment and are possibly sick or exposed, please contact me so I can change your appointment to a video session.

Referrals: Rebecca Miller in my office is currently taking new referrals through her practice.
