EMDR Intensives
Focused EMDR Intensives in Boise
Some things don't need another year of weekly sessions. They need one deep, uninterrupted block of the right work.
An EMDR intensive is a condensed, focused container designed to move through a specific stuck place, a memory, a pattern, a belief, an old fear that keeps running the show, in a fraction of the time traditional therapy takes. For the right person, one intensive can do what months of weekly sessions stretch out and dilute.
WHO THIS IS FOR
You might be here because something specific is holding you: a trauma you're ready to resolve, an event you can't quite put down, a reaction that fires when you don't want it to.
Or you might be here because nothing is "wrong," exactly, and yet you know you're operating below the life you're capable of. A pattern you keep repeating. A fear guarding a door you want to walk through. A version of you that's been waiting.
EMDR works for both. It isn't only for trauma, though it's remarkable there. It's a way of getting underneath the belief or memory that's driving the pattern, so the pattern stops needing to be managed and simply changes. Whether you're resolving something old or clearing the runway for something new, the intensive is the same tool aimed at whatever you're ready to move.
WHAT AN INTENSIVE ACTUALLY IS
It's not a long therapy session. It's a designed piece of work.
Before we meet for the intensive, we talk. We map exactly what you want to move and make sure this format fits you. On the day, we have the time and continuity to go deep and stay there, without the weekly stop-and-restart that interrupts real momentum just as it builds. Afterward, we meet once more to integrate what shifted and make sure it holds.
Three parts, one arc: preparation, the intensive itself, and integration. You're not buying hours. You're buying the whole path through.
IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?
Intensives are powerful precisely because they're focused, which also means they aren't for everyone or every moment.
This tends to be a strong fit if you:
- Have a reasonably clear sense of what you want to work on
- Have enough stability and support in your life right now to do deep work and use coping skills and rest afterward
- Can protect the time, for the session and for the recovery that follows
- Want momentum over maintenance
This may not be the right moment if you:
- Are in active crisis or need ongoing stabilization first (start with traditional therapy)
- Aren't sure yet what you're aiming at (a few standard sessions can find the target, then an intensive can move it)
The consultation exists to filter you to the right place. If an intensive isn't right for you, I'll tell you, and we'll find what is.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Consultation call. We talk first. You tell me what you're carrying or reaching for; I tell you honestly whether an intensive is the right container and what we'd aim at. No pressure, no obligation. (20 Minutes, virtual)
2. Preparation. If we decide to move forward, we prepare, gathering history, setting the target, and making sure you have the grounding to go deep safely.(Virtual or in-person)
3. The intensive. A focused, uninterrupted block of EMDR work built around your specific goal. (In-person)
4. Integration. A follow-up session to consolidate the shift and carry it into daily life. (Virtual or in-person)
Investment
Includes your consultation, preparation, the 3-hour intensive, and an integration follow-up session.
